The Bowater Family have undeniably been a fundamental part of the history of motoring in the top of the south.
Upon returning from World War 2 in 1945, Ray Bowater started the journey, establishing a workshop in the rear of a garage in downtown Nelson with his friend Bill Clifford.
Over the many decades, and 4 generations later, the family still owns and operates the group of companies, with branches, stores, workshops and dealerships all over the region.
Bowaters has cemented themselves as a leading presence in how the top of the south moves around, with a history rich in leading the way and being at the forefront of trends and technological advancements.
